From the Moscow region of Russia comes a thrash trio by the name of Poligon and their Molot Records released debut album Время. (Time) Poligon play a catchy style of mainstream thrash laden with groove metal influence. Heavily accented sleazy vocals link up well with powerful, if a little simplistic riffs, prominent bass lines and frenetic drumming. There are moments where the band try and be too technical and mess up the flow of the music but on the whole the album glides along nicely without ever really getting your pulse racing.

Essentially Время is neither one thing nor the other. it doesn’t seem to make many hints at old school thrash nor is it thoroughly modern. Whilst its played well and has a decent sound it fails to leave a lasting impression.
