Finnish death metal quartet Torture Pulse have returned with their sophomore studio album in tow. Released through Violent Journey Records, Devilroot sports very simple but eye catching artwork and opens with Adramelech Arise and sees the band kick off this twenty five minute deathly opus in fast, rampant style! Devilroot is an album of reverb drenched abrasive riff-age, fast paced attacks of hostile aggressive metal with the constant rumblings of bass and drums giving things a very oppressive, heavy edge! The bands onslaught is only tempered to produce slower moments of sinister malevolence and intensive brooding moods, but other than that the bands methodical, driven sound is relentless. Tracks such as Ride of a Deathtime add into the mix a punk influenced blast of catchy, fun time grooves but overall Devilroot is a solid slab of death metal fury!
