Romanian funeral doom six piece Descend into Despair have released their debut studio album The Bearer of all Storms through Domestic Genocide! Now for me Funeral Doom should be a crushing monolithic beast, with furious roaring vocals, thundering bass lines and an awe inspiring oppressive mood! So why have Descend into Despair decided to create this piss weak excuse for doom? There is very little bass to The Bearer of all Storms, the vocals are decent but there is nothing backing them up. Worse still this album goes on for over an hour and a half! A lengthy album is fine if you have the sound and the talent to back it up but this low key attempt at My Dying Bride worship (A band noted for not playing Funeral Doom) leaves bad taste in the mouth and you with over an hour and a half of your life wasted on an ineffectual, cowardly album from a band who have the nerve to label themselves doom!
