Released through Night in Terrors and sporting a piece of cover art you wouldn’t want to wake up next too and oddly reminiscent of the Carpathian Forest dancers, The Perverse Worship of Satanic Sins is a split release featuring Finnish black/death metal one man band Anal Blasphemy and Swiss/US black duo Forbidden Eye!

Sporting songs such as Licking the Cunt of Chaos and Sperm of Satan, Antichrist Semen, you might have been forgiven for expecting a sleaze fest here! Nothing could be further from truth. Anal Blasphemy may have a crude name and even more uncouth song names but musically they are diverse and engaging. Opening with Licking the Cunt of Chaos, Anal Blasphemy tread waters more expected in that the musical output is a fast, violent out pouring of rage and filth! yet Sperm of Satan, Antichrist Semen is a more thought provoking track with some excellent chanted vocals to match the roar of his usual cacophony! Again Birth-Death-Rebirth’s methodical approach comes as a surprise and even when he unleashes a blat beat driven flurry of ferocious black metal tyranny, the creative and technical prowess on display is extremely high!

Forbidden Eye’s half of proceedings opens with a short, dark and ambient intro before The Moon of the Blood Serpent opens with a ravishing display of blast beat fury and abrasive unrelenting riff-age! Vocally things are just as dominant and raw as this blackened duo create something truly savage and blistering! With a slightly muffled production standard their part of this split has a truly murky edge and one that compliments the bands harsh vocals and thundering tones well! Clearly diversity isn’t high up in the list of priorities for Forbidden Eye as Monastery of Satan takes up the baton and runs with it in much the same style as the previous track, although the more groove drenched beats and cold riffs are enjoyable none the less. Finishing with Hour Glass of Black Tears, Forbidden Eye bring this rather surprising and extremely talented split too an end!

For any fan of grim, Satanic black metal this diamond in the rough is highly recommended!
