There is a new black metal band in town, hailing from The Netherlands comes Shackles for a Crown and their debut demo released this year!

Opening with “You’ll Die” things are rampant and chaotic right from moment one! A barrage of vitriolic noise greets you as the band launch into an unrelenting scathing aural attack of savage riffs and drumming and the harsh demonic growls of  their vocalist! Sadistically raw and mired in oppressive and brutal overtones, Shackles for a Crown show no mercy save for the odd moment of blackened calm, where a more threatening sinister vibe takes a hold.

“Mental Retribution” is a twelve minute mini-saga that has a piercing cold melody, an deeply obsessive and darkened sound and an intoxicating charisma! Switching from slow methodical precision to out right brutality in the blink of an eye, this track really is a roller-coaster of nocturnal suffering!

The demo’s full length epic is entitled “Loathe” and weighs in at a huge eighteen minutes long. Opening in a cool, calculating manner, Shackles for a Crown end this release in a truly spectacular fashion as their sound rises slowly and with purpose before exploding with venom and spite into a full on audio attack! When the dust settles and the air clears the band are still at it, hammering away but now with a far more structured sound, clear, malevolent and brilliant!

A seriously impressive debut from a black metal band still shrouded in the mists of their career infancy, more savage tales are yet to be told though no doubt!
