DEMORIAN | DISCO DIABOLIQUE [BLACK/GOTHIC METAL] REVIEW BY LUKE HAYHURST

front

Originally a straight up black metal band, Swedish duo Demorian have now incorporated more Gothic metal and even metalcore influences.

At least that is what Metal Archives has them listed as. Personally I disagree. If I had to peg Demorian’s current sound it would be somewhere between “Symbol of Life” era Paradise Lost and the Cruxshadows. Demorian have certainly progressed away from black metal although their dark sound still remains.

“Disco Diabolique” is the projects fourth full length album and has an easy flowing sound too it, combined with often haunting vocals and always a steady beat! As you’ll often find with a piece of music with Satanic Tony’s stamp on it things have a very underground raw feel, but then that is exactly how he likes it!

Of all of his works though this could well be the catchiest and easiest to get into but don’t be fooled, there is still a cold black heart beating fiercely beneath these pleasant tones.
