There’s an old saying: ‘If you’re tired of London, you’re tired of life., well if this book proves it. This excellent book tells the story of six London streets and their inhabitents, it puts the history in an entertaining social context, and never neglects the big picture of what was happening around them. The three writers excel in their fields (I really loved Neil Hegarty’s ‘Story of Ireland’ TV series, a very good take on a very complex subject).
Highly recommended, a fine and entertaining history book that works at a multitude of levels.
