POLISH DEATH METAL
4/10 – LUKE HAYHURST
Polish death metal outfit Dormant Ordeal have been on the go since back in 2005 and following a trio of demo releases have finally taken the plunge and released their debut full length album entitled “It Rains, It Pours”.
Sporting a more modern style of death metal complete with some double bass drumming and a hollow growled vocal style, Dormant Ordeal play a very average style of death metal, bland, ordinary and unremarkable. Indeed after hearing this album it almost immediately lost from memory far quicker than the albums duration itself. Despite favouring a raw sound with decent production this just feels tired, bored and over done. in terms of musicianship I can’t fault the band at all, it is purely in terms of song craft where this lacks any bite or edge, and so the end result is a dull album that doesn’t warrant further speculation.
