Patria display themselves in the typical black metal stanza, corpse paint black clothes and the biggest studded arm band they could find! In the biography of the album they said they wished to capture the sound of the ‘early 90’s black metal’ and in this album they got it bang on! The riffs have a distinct reminder of the dirty riffs Venom concocted in the early days when the scene was becoming more noticed. However there is a clear distinguished sound they have created themselves. The riffs can be heavy and edgy next to the gruff vocals throughout the tracks in the album, the songs remain reasonable lengths, not really wanting them much longer as it could get repetitive. I still recommend It for a listen. [6/10 – SARAH FALDER]
