CADAVER DISPOSAL | MAY ALL BE DEAD

The German Death Metal scene is in the rudest of health right now especially if last months Sabiendas review was anything to go by! Now though their album has been smashed out of the water by a band whose act of releasing an album might never have happened at all. Let me explain…With out going into full details (which I can’t reveal for legal reasons) the band parted company with their original drummer whilst they were known as Braindead. Following his departure a legal battle ensued regarding many of the tracks on the album they had just finished recording and so their ex drummer went his way with the rights to certain songs and Braindead were no more! From the ashes of Braindead though instantly rose the phoenix as it were, a new band under the name CADAVER DISPOSAL which consisted of the original members of Braindead with Torturer of bethlehem and Belphegor on drums. The remaining songs from the now deceased album that they had the rights too were released as a free download demo release and then Cadaver Disposal spent the last two years creating a new album…

Sadly Torturer had to leave the band due to health reasons during the albums creative process and has been replaced by TJ Anger of Sober Truth and now finally after two long fraught years Cadaver Disposal have returned with a concept album in tow going by the name of ‘May All Be Dead’. It tells the story of a man who loses everything and so joins the army who turn him into a brutal killing machine. Following this he loses his empathy and basic human values. Whilst in conflict he loses his entire unit and gets shipped home, the sole survivor. Once more he has lost everything and so takes his own life. This is all very interesting but how does it play out in musical form? Well I’ll tell you…

Crushing. Down right and out right crushing German Death Metal dominance from the moment an air raid siren sound at the start of opening track ‘Desert Storm’ to the very last note of the albums finale track ‘Hymn To The Remains’. What Cadaver Disposal dish out is the aural equivalent of being dropped to the floor by a sucker punch to the chin and then having five guys kick the holy hell out of you for an hour. Pure unadulterated Death Metal savagery with beast like chugging menacing riffs, thick sounding and bassy songs that are catchy and instantly stick in your head and the brutality and confidence to say growl proudly that they are Cadaver Disposal and they will fuck shit up and make you damn well enjoy yourself whilst they do it. I’ve had this album a week and I can’t stop listening too its insanely catchy vibes lyrics and monstrous riffs.

‘May All Be Dead’ is a devastating example of German Death Metal efficiency, destructiveness and pure fucking chaos! Buy it! [10/10 – LUKE HAYHURST]
